The Sword

The Light
Song of Songs isn't an abstract allegory; it's a divine manual of holy seduction. Two lovers who desire each other, pursue each other, admire each other, speak to each other in erotic poetry, and burn together in the fire of the covenant. God included this book in the Bible to tell us something bold: sexual desire inside marriage isn't tolerated; it's celebrated. Flirting didn't end at the honeymoon; it was designed to last a lifetime. Seducing your spouse isn't manipulation; it's reactivating the holy chase God programmed. That includes: suggestive text messages during the day (not vulgar, but poetic), sustained eye contact, touches with no genital destination, hidden notes, dates planned with mystery, specific compliments. Routine is the grave of desire. Intentionality is its resurrection.
The Pact
This week, each of you will pull off a "Secret Seduction Mission" without telling the other. Rules: (1) It must be something you haven't done in the last year. (2) No money required (or very little). (3) The goal isn't necessarily sex that night, but to light a spark. Examples: slip a note with a Song of Songs verse into their pocket, send a text saying "today I remembered the curve of your back and forgot all about work," set up a candlelit bath and just sit there talking, dance to a song in the kitchen with no music. At the end of the week, share at a date night what each of you did and how it felt.
Rescue prayer
Beloved Jesus, Bridegroom of the Church, teach us to court. Give us back the wonder, the poetry, the play, and the kindled gaze. Forgive us for letting routine put out what the covenant set on fire. We want to love each other with the passion of Song of Songs and the holiness of Your altar. May every day smell of new wine and spring flowers in our home. Amen.
