How do you stop a shouting match before it gets worse?

Stop right now! At this very moment, the enemy is celebrating because two children of God are tearing each other apart with words he himself is feeding you. What you're saying right now isn't the fruit of the Spirit; it's the work of the flesh and fuel for hell. Every insult that leaves your mouth is a stake driven into the heart of your covenant. Every threat of divorce is a verbal pact with the destroyer. You have exactly 60 seconds to decide: are you going to keep being Satan's instrument against your own flesh, or are you going to shut your mouth in the name of Jesus? Maturity isn't never getting angry; it's knowing how to stop before anger becomes a mortal sin against the covenant.

Execute this RIGHT NOW, no arguing: (1) Immediate freeze: both shut your mouths. Zero words. Zero justifications. Zero slammed doors. (2) Mandatory physical contact: take each other's hands. If you're too far apart, sit on the floor back to back. (3) 120 seconds of silence: breathe deep. Mentally invoke the blood of Christ over the room. (4) Break the silence only with this: the one who started yelling says, "This got out of hand. I don't want to talk anymore tonight. We'll pick this up tomorrow with God's help.
