Philippians 2:4

not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.

Reflection

Have you ever sat down at a restaurant, looked at the menu, ordered your food, and suddenly an awkward silence falls over the table? That is the moment when many couples think, 'We have nothing left to talk about.' And then, to fill the void, both pull out their cell phones to look at other people's lives.

The truth is that you did not marry a static statue or a photograph. Your spouse is a living, breathing human being whose brain and passions are constantly evolving by God's wonderful design. The person you married ten years ago is not the exact same person sitting across from you today.

Relationship experts often talk about keeping our 'Love Maps' updated, which simply means knowing our partner's inner world. But those maps expire rapidly if we do not make a continuous effort to rediscover them; if you are navigating your marriage with a map from 2015, you are going to get completely lost.
