The Shared Word Syncing The Mind
Audio narration — available in the app
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
Reflection
Have you ever tried to assemble an Ikea piece of furniture with each of you reading a completely different manual, or worse, with no manual at all? You end up frustrated, with leftover parts, and blaming each other. That is exactly how marriage feels when we try to make our relationship work without being synced on the same page of God's original design.
The daily routine easily absorbs us. Between the unwashed dishes, the monthly bills that cannot wait, and the endless phone notifications, it is very easy to end up consuming completely different content throughout the day. You listen to a business podcast, she reads a viral news story, and when you finally hit the bed at night, your minds are living in two completely parallel worlds.
Reading the Bible together does not have to be a rigorous academic duty or a two-hour theological seminary right in your living room. Scripture is, in simple and practical terms, our daily survival and maintenance manual. It is that unfailing light that dispels confusion when we do not know how to resolve a heated argument or how to make an important financial decision.
