The Resurrection: Hope For Dry Bones

We all know the feeling of a dead end. Perhaps you feel that way today: you look at the person lying next to you in bed and they feel miles away. There are marriages that are not just sick; humanly speaking, they feel like they have passed away. Piercing silences, crushing routines, a painful betrayal, or years of accumulated apathy have left the relationship looking like a valley of dry bones.

And I want to tell you something with a pastor's heart: it is entirely valid to feel exhausted. When there have been deep wounds, when arguments play like a broken record, and the tears never seem to dry, it is natural to think there is nothing left to do. Our hearts whisper that it is time to sign the papers, turn off the lights, and give up because 'we are beyond repair.'

But this is precisely where the message of Jesus completely flips the script. The core of our Christian faith is not merely about God coming to teach bad people how to behave better. The Gospel is about an extreme rescue mission: God came down to breathe life into what was completely dead.
