The Power of Taking the Towel

Picture this very common scenario: you come home after a completely exhausting day, look at your spouse, and internally start the unspoken competition of 'who is more tired'. We want the other person to cater to us, understand us, and serve us, feeling we have already paid our dues at work or with the kids.

The world has fed us a toxic idea about leadership and worth. It teaches us that the person at the top is the one making demands, asserting their rights, or crossing their arms while others serve them. That lie sneaks into our homes, creating transactional power struggles.

But look at what Jesus did at the Last Supper. Being God Himself, the Creator of the universe and the ultimate leader, He did not demand the seat of honor. He took off His outer garments, grabbed a servant's towel, and began washing His friends' dirty, sweaty, dusty feet.
