Song of Solomon 5:16
His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, this is my friend, daughters of Jerusalem.
Reflection
Have you ever felt that your marriage runs more like a logistics company than a loving relationship? We wake up, take out the trash, pay the bills, drive the kids to their activities, buy groceries, and collapse into bed exhausted.
In the midst of this avalanche of responsibilities, it is incredibly easy to forget why we got married in the first place. We become excellent 'home managers' or roommates, but we lose that spark we had when we were dating and spent hours talking about everything and nothing.
Romance, candlelight dinners, and physical passion are wonderful things, but they have their high and low seasons. What truly sustains a marriage when the butterflies in the stomach settle down is a deep, intentional, and bulletproof friendship.
