COMMUNICATION · Day 133

From The Courtroom To The Workbench

Audio narration — available in the app

1 Corinthians 6:7

The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

Reflection

Have you ever felt like your living room suddenly turned into a courtroom? It happens in a split second. You left a wet towel on the bed, or forgot to pay that bill, and suddenly, one of you assumes the role of a ruthless prosecutor and the other becomes the defendant fighting tooth and nail.

In that 'marriage courtroom,' the goal is no longer to love each other, but to win the case. We start pulling out evidence files from three years ago, using absolute terms like 'always' and 'never,' and interrogating each other as if we were standing before a judge. But here is the trap: in marriage, if one wins the argument and the other loses, you both lose completely.

Pride whispers lies in our ears. It tells us that if we admit our mistake, if we let our guard down and say 'you are right, I was wrong,' we will lose power in the relationship. But in God's Kingdom, repentance and vulnerability are the exact actions that give us true spiritual authority and connect our hearts deeply.
