Ephesians 6:12

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Reflection

Have you ever had one of those arguments that starts over absolute nonsense, like how to squeeze the toothpaste or who forgot to take out the trash, and suddenly you feel like you are in World War III? Words become sharp, tones escalate, and a fog of irrational anger fills your living room. You end up looking at each other as if the other were the ultimate villain in history, completely forgetting that just a few hours ago you were saying 'I love you.'

Welcome to the front lines. And no, I do not mean the battle between the two of you. The apostle Paul gives us one of the most urgent and eye-opening warnings for daily life: our struggle is not against 'flesh and blood.' In other words, the person in front of you, the one breathing, sleeping next to you, and who sometimes drives you crazy, is not your real enemy.

Think about this: the family was the first institution God created, long before governments or the church. By divine design, it is the clearest reflection of Christ's love for us. Do you not think that makes it the number one target for the enemy? Satan is not so interested in a missed Sunday service; he is far more interested in destroying the intimacy, peace, and unity in your home, because he knows a divided family is vulnerable.
